Studio Policy
- BOOKING: Hours are by appointment only. Please call 718-383-3813 or email us at info@roughmagicstudios.com to book time. You can see our online studio calendar for availability here
- A deposit of $100 per day is required to book a session . Any outstanding balance is due in full at the end of each session. No media (tapes, CDs or DVDs) will be released to anyone with an outstanding balance. The deposit is credited against your final balance, but is otherwise NONREFUNDABLE. If you need to reschedule, we will re-apply your existing deposit to a new date if you give us at least 48 hours notice. No-shows, last minute changes and/or cancellations result in LOSS OF DEPOSIT. Please make sure everyone in your group is aware of our deposit policy and available during the time you are booking before you schedule a session. Bookings are not guaranteed until a deposit has been received.
- PAYMENT: We accept cash, credit cards (via PayPal) and check. If you pay by check, the check will have to clear before any masters, CD’s or DVD’s are released. The bounced check fee is $30.00
- RECORDING AND MIXING: Generally speaking, the clock starts once your gear is set in place. All sessions begin at the scheduled start time, regardless of whether or not any band members are present. There is no free set up time for hourly bookings
- Computer files are uninsured. Rough Magic Studios assumes no responsibility for master tapes, computer files and/or any other items left on the premises. Your best protection against data loss is to make safety copies on your own hard drive. Any item left longer than 30 days may be disposed of at the discretion of Rough Magic Studios. That said, it’s obviously in our best interest to protect your files. However, computers are not 100% reliable. Accidents can and do happen. The best way to safeguard your project is to make sure you leave each session with copies of all the current files. An external FireWire drive is ideal for this purpose. An entire LP project can be copied in 15 minutes or less
